PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Program for Academic and Leadership Skills (PALS) offers three separate programs
for girls in grades 3 through 10: the Elementary School Program for 3rd through
6th graders, the Middle School Program for 7th and 8th graders,
and the High School
Program for 9th and 10th graders.
Each of the three programs take place on Saturday
mornings at the PALS building.
Core activities include academics, arts & crafts, performing arts, and
character formation. The school year programs also include special guest speakers,
parent
seminars, service events, and excursions.
Unique to PALS and its brother program
TAP is a merit-based program called "Character
Counts." Throughout the semester, students can earn "character points" for
good behavior, acts of service to others, or achieving goals they set for themselves.
At the end of the program, students with the most points are rewarded with
such prizes as tickets to various DC sporting events, yacht excursions, and
trips
to Six Flags.
